We are all young, we are all old, we all once felt immortal, and in truth, we all transform.
Lucid Fly was born following a chain of events happening on September 26, 1996. It was the day astronaut Shannon Lucid stepped out of the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis. Lucid was trapped in her space station and unable to return to earth because of a hurricane; in doing so she set the record for the longest stay in space by any U.S. astronaut and by any woman in the world! The newspaper headline read: Lucid Flies into the record book! The lead singer of Lucid Fly, (Nikki) was talking with a friend of hers who read the headline out loud. It struck a chord with her and the other members of Lucid Fly. At that time, they were one of the few heavier alternative/rock bands fronted by a female vocalist. It was a time of exploration and discovery; they felt a connection to Shannon Lucid and pioneered the name Lucid Fly!
