A native of Monterrey, Mexico, Jaime Lozano earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and Composition from the School of Music at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and was the recipient of a full TSOA academic scholarship while earning his Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Writing from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In addition, Jaime is the first Mexican to be accepted and graduate from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.

Jaime's works have been produced at Goodspeed Opera House, Julliard School of Music, The Triad Theatre, Theatre for the New City, Soho Playhouse, Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, Town Hall, Minskoff Theatre, as well as many other venues.

An accomplished musician, vocal coach, orchestrator, producer and musical director, Jaime has staged such well-known musicals as Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Fantasticks. In October 2006 and August 2005, respectively, Jaime adapted, produced, and directed the Spanish world premiere of The Last Five Years and Songs for a New World. In March 2004 he developed, produced and directed the gala concert Broadway Elite and was the musical director/arranger for Pedro Páramo, which was part of the Nuevo León Theatre Festival. In August 2003, Jaime staged the Mexican premiere of Jekyll & Hyde The Musical.

Jaime has also authored/composed various musical works. To date, he has co-written The Yellow Brick Road (music and lyrics with Tommy Newman, book by Mando Alvarado), which will have its Off Broadway premier Summer 2011 and a national tour, as well as the new Latin musical Children of Salt, (book and lyrics by Lauren Epsenhart, direction and choreography by Luis Salgado) which had a reading in May 2009 at NYU's Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Children of Salt is currently being developed to début in New York City. Jaime also co-wrote the one-act musical, The Yehuatl (book and lyrics by Sara Cooper), read in May 2008 at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program followed by a second reading in January 2009 at the Dramatist Guild. Jaime is the composer, lyricist and librettist of the musical Tlatelolco, which premiered in October 2001 in Monterrey, Mexico, and was revived in 2002 and 2004 (original cast recording available).

As an arranger, Jaime has worked with the cast of In the Heights and the Tony/Grammy award recipient, Alex Lacamoire, on the Christmas recording Carols for a Cure 2010. Jaime is also the arranger, orchestrator and music director for the R.Evolución Latina album Dare to Go Beyond, featuring various prominent Broadway performers.

Other professional associations include his affiliation with the not-for-profit organization R.Evolución Latina, where he functions as an activist, teacher and musical theatre educational programmer. He is the artistic director and music producer of La Casita Recording Studio and he also serves on the Partnership and Promotion Committee for the NYU Musical Theatre Writer's Collective.
