November 2, 2011: Great news from Baton Rouge, where Judge Michael Caldwell has ruled in favor of the Animal Legal Defense Fund and Louisiana taxpayers in our lawsuit to free Tony the Tiger from the Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete, Louisiana.

Judge Caldwell agreed with ALDF's argument that the permit that allows Sandlin to keep Tony was unlawfully issued by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. The judge ordered the Department to revoke the current permit and prohibited it from issuing any new permits to the Truck Stop. "We are thrilled that the court made the right decision," says ALDF Executive Director Stephen Wells. "We will continue to do everything we can to make sure Tony's next home is a reputable, accredited sanctuary that can give Tony the life he deserves."

Although disabled from a very bad riding accident, I still ride, even though its f-ing painful & I shouldn't. I just love horses; I have a beautiful 16.3H Gelderland Chestnut mare & a 2yr old Piebald that I RESCUED from being sent to a fattening farm for slaughter.

I have 2 Yorkshire Terriers & also a little Chihuahua who has little dog syndrome...lol...I can always rely on them for lots of cuddles when I'm stuck in bed for weeks due to pain!

I hate all animal abuse; we should be protecting the voiceless. Too many animals suffer terribly before they are actually noticed & if lucky, rescued.

I wish slaughter houses had glass walls; it's about time people saw how farm animals are actually treated. There should be CCTV, to stop the sick fuckers who enjoy inflicting pain & making animals suffer.
Laws regarding animal abusers need to seriously be updated; too many are getting off with a slap on the wrist.

There should be a world wide database for animal abusers, so the sick fucks can't apply for job's working with animals or can't get hold of animals through shelters.

No animal should suffer for human entertainment; the word "tradition" is used all too often as an excuse to carry on harming animals.
Animals need their coats, we don't, stop fur farms & poaching, hunting etc. to make fashion items.

I belong to most animal charities including those overseas &have many adopted animals. One charity is very close to my heart in Cancun; called cancunanimalrescue.com...I have been there many times & see how the street animals live & it's pitiful. Their mission is to spay & neuter cats & dogs as well as re-homing. I remember one case where a horse had been tethered tightly around a tree and left to die of starvation. Humans are the only fucking animals that enjoy inflicting pain on others!!
