I am truly passionate about music, art and dancing. I started painting with nail polish in 1991. It's a versatile and unique medium. In 18 years, I've found that the colours stay true. I usually use 40 layers of lacquer. As the layers build up, the canvas becomes saturated with paint, almost like a liquid gel. The finished paintings are luminescent and resemble stained glass. Others are intricately carved or bas relief. Now, I'm starting to do acetone washes that look just like conventional watercolours. Each piece takes about a year to finish. They're meant to be touched, and you can soak them in Woolite if they get dirty (the finished canvas reminds me of translucent linoleum). I've never met another artist who uses nail polish, so my techniques are my own. I sell some paintings and limited edition cards online. Almost all of my paintings are inspired by music or dance.
