Dave, does the cypress tree have the same flamable resin of a pine tree? Can you gather pitch from it? I live in Illinois but travel there once a year to visit relatives.

@fuzzynippleman Cast iron spreads heat evenly. Before it burns it is spreading the heat throughout the whole pan and lid. This system is okay for your home but heavy if you are traveling. The rack for storage of the pans etc. could have been made from tree

branches just as easily and you can bur...

Thanks for buying Estwing tools. You should look into the Estwing axe which has the hammer head on the oppposite side of the axe. Estwing is made in my home town.

That is the perfect escape vehicle. No need to use electric hookups at the campgrounds. I know the price of solar panels but was curious of the price on the wind generation. I assume you want the most open camping location for both energy sources though. Bring your own shade: )

My friends greyhound got baited in like this one night at a cookout and was attacked by 4 coyotes just outside of the clearing in the woods until Blitz my german shepherd stepped in. It scared the hell out of us. The greyhound injuries (broken jaw) cost my friend over 500 bucks. Blitz chased them...

I killed my first deer with a Rage yesterday. The buck was quartering away at about 30 yards and it broke two rib bones.

I have to admit I was a bit concerned when it was quartering away (after seeing some videos) and I had 2 Muzzy broadheads in my quiver just in case it wasn't broadside. I tried...

I am guessing that is 50 caliber or larger. If you used a smaller caliber shot I am sure you would penetrate the PC case and more.

I use the same setup but you will want to enlarge the hole by cuttting out the inner ring with tin snips. In Illinois we are only allowed a one and a half inch hole. The one inch hole is too small for crawfish.

What were you using for bait in the trap and what was it wrapped in?

Great video! I have to move south when I retire. Bigger crawfish, longer growing season great people. I am guessing you are a very happy man.

This was probably the best survival video I have seen. I had always been taught to do just the opposite. It makes perfect sense though. I can see where even larger, wetter wood below would be dried out and function later as fuel throughout the nightl.
