@ckwaldrup94 My Dad's 1943 S Case was on steel originally too and had them cut off and rims welded on. Seems a lot of 1943 Case's came out on steel - wartime rubber shortage?

@TylerThemakanic 12-38 according to my Case dealer's manual - but the tire size you will get for that will likely be 13.9-38 or something like that.

Don't think Case called these DC4's in 1940, more likely is a DH. DC4's had the sliding rear wheels like the DC's (what use that was I don't know since the front axle was fixed on them).

Looks like mine did when I first bought it, before I put the wide front end on it.

Case didn't make D's until 1939 and this one is even newer than that. The 1939 D's had their instruments mounted in little pods on either side of the steering wheel shaft instead of on a panel at the fuel tank like this, and the clutch lever was on the right side that year like the C's were.

model DC Case, I could pretty much tell from the sound of it right at the start of the clip. D's have a rather distinctive sound to my ears. Looks like an earlier model because it has the oil screen in the sump, later ones don't because they have oil filters.

top speed according to the Case shop manual for them was just a bit over 10 MPH.

Nice tractor! What is the serial number? If the S/N plate is missing on the dash, check on the engine to transmission flange on the left side of the tractor beside the air cleaner, the S/N is stamped there too. Then subtract 4 from the first 2 digits of it to get the year.

very nice, looks like you have the chrome strips on the hood too. My Dad's 1943 S has them too but they went by the wayside in later years of the S.

nice to see an old 203, my uncle had one. no corn head though, he did wheat, oats etc. with his. reel and cutter bar for wheat and a pickup for the other crops which the swather cut first.

had a crank on a model S snap back on me last spring from doing it wrong, thought I had broken my thighbone after it hit. lot of pain for over a week. ow.

if your tractor has lights you will need 12V bulbs in them too. As for negative vs positive ground it makes no difference to anything on the tractor so long as you hook the battery up correctly (i.e. negative grounded alternator needs the battery negative post connected to ground).
