When Hyacinth arrives at neighborhood she acts like the queen. She is introduced to the "locals" and replies in an aristocratic way "How do you do". She never reaches the upper class, but for this short moment she is upper class. Brilliant scene.

From her eyes, strange way to look, to the way she moves her head with her make up, she is Norma Desmond. She looks and behaves strangely because she is in character. And still able to sing in an easy way.

Always liked her as an actress, but cannot get over the fact, she simply cannot sing. The score is low and her singing... well and that takes so much out of Norma. I wish I could like this and I am happy so many do, but I can't lie. Not for me.

Horrible. The worst nightmare of a musical production. Sure, sets are cheap, lighting is bad, staging laughable, BUT PC is the one making Norma a clown, anti-star. Her performance is horrible. The ending of With One Look is a joke. I would have walked out after Surrender. Sorry to say.

Thanks, waited this to return. What an ending. At least she got this kind of triumph on her closing night form this horrible run she had with SB. Not just a diva, but a true artist.

WOW! What a performance. The belter, the actress in one. Emotional and powerful. Anyone telling Glenn Close would perform this song on stage with same power LuPone did, isn't listening.

With just a pic and audio she sounds fantastic! Of course she could play the part. Her firing had nothing to do with acting etc.
