That 4/22/78 show may have been the best in the entire history of the series. The premiere of the Blues Brothers, King Tut...everything just seemed to come together just right for one magical evening.

@selloutasaurus Yes, I remember that parody very well! Those shows in the "fake" promo would have actually been way better than the real shows that premiered that fall.

WAGA had pre-empted a number of CBS shows over the years, including the daytime game show block of Family Feud and Card Sharks in the late 80's as well as the Pat Sajak Show in 1989-90. Even given WAGA's long-standing relationship with CBS, I was not surprised when they switched to Fox.

@ kstar: yes, Treasury Drug was an offshoot of the Treasury stores. Treasury Drug was acquired by Eckerd in the early 1990's.

The underpinnings of the '79 LTD are essentially the same as those of the 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car. Awesome cars even to this day!
