Inflation is wearing me down
My paycheck buys less each week
Taxation all the regulation
Is selling me on down the creek
My savings are now obsolete...

Politicians tell me don't ask for a raise
But they feather their own nest just fine
They party and pet with loafing jet-set
Shoving me an ole jawbone to grind
That's the real bottom line...

Overspending loose lending seems never-ending
By those popinjays up on the hill
Taxes taxes taxes always increasing
Faster than all my other bills
My dollar keeps sliding downhill...

No wonder I'm trapped in a inflation gap
Tripping over red tape like a clown
Been pushed to the gutter living off peanut butter
While fat bureaucrats take over my town
Didn't even vote last go-round...
