Mel Silverback was brought back from Africa by a man in a yellow hat named Dan Licoppe. Mel Silverback is a tuxedo clad, old-time Catskills mountain gorilla stand up comic with an edge, who tells it like it is.

Mel Silverback made it to the semi finals on Season 5 of NBC's Last Comic Standing. Mel Silverback was the most Googled performer on the show for the first two weeks and was so popular that NBC asked him to return to appear in episodes after he was eliminated. He was the only eliminated semi finalist asked to return.

Monsters and Critics.com -- Think Shecky Greene in his heyday in a gorilla costume. This simian napalms the audience and judges. I think Ant spit something out he was chewing on. He delivered some of the night's best material.
