June 5, 2004, Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Gelinas appeared to score a game-winning goal in the third period with 6:48 to go. The Calgary Flames lead Tampa Bay 3-2 in a best of seven games series, but the shot, which rolled in off Gelinas's skate onto Lightning goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin's pad, went unreviewed and play was allowed to continue with no goal awarded. Replays show the puck did cross the goal line, proving that the correct call was not made by the officials. Calgary should have won the Stanley Cup. It was also Martin Gelinas's Birthday. This goal is often called the "Phantom Goal".
