Yes, I've read the book and in it I got the feeling that Peter was more the 'I'm gonna keep wearing the shirt and shorts that I've been wearin for a couple days now' kid. I think the look J. M. Barrie wanted for him was more foresty, like with garments made of leaves and stuff like that. Oh, and leather belts for knives :) It's kind of a violent book.
