Thanks for the compliment. I think melody is soo important in expressing an instrumental piece. I'm Old School & I've been doing this for a many years. And if people can't recognize what you're playing, then to me you're just playing a bunch of notes. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate...

(Ralph T. Lofton, Jr.)Musician/ Artist/ Producer/ Writer/ Entrepreneur:
God anointed Ralph T. Lofton, Jr. with the ability to play at the age of nine years old in the city of Memphis, Tennessee. His first instrument was the piano and the first song he ever played was Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross during Sunday School. He soon developed his love for the organ. Ralph used his playing ability to assist ministries and musical groups within the city, a few of which he was the founder and director. In 1984 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his musical career. Shortly after his arrival, Ralph began playing for a couple of local churches and worked a few odd jobs while becoming acquainted with the music industry. In God's perfect time, Ralph was introduced to Dr. Bobby Jones and his music director, Derrick Lee. He auditioned me and I was hired as a musician for the Bobby Jones Gospel Show on the Black Entertainment Television Network (BET). He served in that capacity for over ten years. Through this entity, God blessed Lofton to further use his music ministry by playing for numerous recording
projects. In 1989, he was hired to tour with Bebe and Cece Winans. This tour would take him halfway around the world (as far as Siberia.)
Lofton has also been blessed to make guest appearances on the TV shows of such stars as Arsenio Hall, Pat Sajak, Regis & Kathy Lee, Jay Leno, and David Letterman, to name a few. He has accompanied such worldrenowned
artists as Whitney Houston, Little Richard and has appeared on the stage and on the records of over 100 gospel artists. One could just about pick any gospel CD out of their collection and find his name listed under the musical credits. As a producer, he has produced three of his own instrumental projects. He has also produced projects for the Angelic Voices of Faith, Dr. Charles G. Hayes & The Cosmopolitan Church, The Christianaires,
Sharrneice Horton and the Voices of Faith, and the two-time Dove nominated Mt. Zion Mass Choir (Nashville, TN.) Music Director for Mt. Zion Church(Nashville for 7 years. As a songwriter, he has written music for such artists as Bobby Jones and New Life, Beverly Crawford, (Actor) Rev. Clifton Davis, and Rev. Lawrence Thomison. The 1998 Stellar Awards featured one of Mr. Lofton's compositions as their theme music. He has several gold records and citations to his credit. Ralph is the President and CEO of Raph'Ton Music Enterprizes, a music company that houses several
publishing entities, a record label, the future school of the arts, and a consulting firm. Lofton is currently traveling with the renowned jazz saxophonist, Kirk Whalum where he performs with musical greats such as, bassist Michael Manson, vocalist Kevin Whalum, guitarist Kevin Turner, drummer Sean McCurley, and keyboardists Michael Logan,Takana Miyamoto, & John Stoddart.
His current partnership with Duration Music Group, owned by Joseph R. Washington, Jr., has birthed an instructional organ DVD entitled "The Art And Fundamental Basics Of The Hammond Organ", the newly released CD entitled "I Tell You Yes" (featuring a mixture of instrumental gospel, smooth jazz, and some harmonicvocal presentations,) and a future, pregnant, with possibilities. "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires. (Psalm 37:4 -NLT)
As U said, this is soo timely. J, we've never met personally, but as an artist & musician myself, I have a great deal of respect for your ministry & your craft. U R The real Deal. Blessings To U My brotha. Thanks for this message... On Time... Love & Live...
