LODHEE

IMRAN LODHI (Pakistani singer/songwriter/all round guitar player) has been making music for a long time now .His musical journey has taken him in places he himself had never imagined he would ever go to. With 3 documented albums under his belt, he feels his journey has just started and is looking forward to making more music.



HISTORY:

"UNDERTOW"
Primarily a vocalist for the band, UNDERTOW was the most popular underground cover band in KARACHI in 1998 to 2000, their covers ranged from Guns n Roses Zeppelin, to Dave Matthews and Limp Bizkit, giving a young IMRAN LODHI a wide , range of influences. Lead Guitarist KASHAN ADMANI later went on to create his own band MIZMAAR, drummer ADNAN HUSSAIN went on to play with "AAROH" and helped them win the "PEPSI BATTLE OF THE BANDS". IMRAN went to study at Mcgill, University , Canada.


"CUSTODY"
Founded by IMRAN LODHI in MONTREAL, CANADA. This multi cultural band was voted amongst the TOP 20 BANDS out of 400 BANDS, in "EMERGENZA'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS". The music was essentially all English originals written by IMRAN LODHI , and show cased his creativity stemming from his cover band days. It established him as a strong, BLUES POP ROCK GUITAR PLAYER SINGER/SONGWRITER.


"HOLLOW GUITAR, FOLLOW GUITAR "

After "Custody" disbanded, IMRAN'S return to his hometown KARACHI,PAKISTAN got him straight into making this very simple, intimate guitar based solo album which he produced almost entirley on his own within 3 WEEKS. He called it HOLLOW GUITAR, FOLLOW GUITAR.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Written in URDU,it was a sudden shift from his pop rock Custody days, and showed off his family heritage and deep understanding of PAKISTANI GHAZAL, FOLK MUSIC and URDU POETRY.

Eldest son of Professional Ghazal singers, IMRAN LODHI'S work on this album had alot more WEIGHT than Custody and also acknowledged him as a rounded VIRTUOSO GUITAR PLAYER.


A.D.P [Aunty Disco Project] (2006-2007)


Collabarating essentially with fellow band members Omar Akhtar,Yasir Qureshi and Omar Khalid.
ADP as the band was called was the most hyped Pakistani band from 2006-2007. Completing an 11 SONG ALBUM and being known as the most prolific live act, the "AUNTY DISCO PROJECT'S " name alone got people wondering about the band.
IMRAN's contribution here was a raw, fusion of his BLUES POP ROCK STYLE from Custody days with the WEIGHTY, POETIC SINGING/STYLINGS of Hollow Guitar.
The music on the ALBUM was sometimes lost in all the HYPE behind the band, Imran feels.

However, it gave him 2 hit singles in the PAKISTAN MAINSTREAM with "SULTANATE" and "IS TANHAI KO".



POST FEB 2008:

AFTER recording a credible hit called "LADTEE HO", (critically and popularly), IMRAN came back to Montreal, and last performed and collabarated with a group of MONTREAL/PAKISTANI musicians under the name the "SHADY 7". The performance brought out "LADTEE HO and BEIRUT (song from Custody days). FOOTAGE CAN BE CAUGHT ON YOUTUBE.
