About LISC  
Founded in 1979, LISC is a national organization with a community focus. LISC is headquartered in New York City and operates out of 30 local program offices across the country. We assist local community development organizations identify priorities and challenges, and deliver the most appropriate support to meet local needs. Our support include grants, loans, equity, and technical and organizational assistance.

In 30 years, LISC has invested $11.1 billion into distressed communities, leveraging $33.9 billion in development. The results are 277,000 affordable homes and apartments and 44 million square feet of retail and community space.

Our comprehensive community revitalization strategy, called Building Sustainable Communities, is having a impact, on the ground. The strategy calls for 1) Expanding Investment in neighborhood real estate projects; 2) Increasing family income and wealth; 3) Simulate economic development; 4) Improve access to quality education; and 5) Support healthy environments and lifestyles.

It is no longer just a plan or an idea. It's working, every day, to improve and strengthen urban and rural neighborhoods throughout the country.
