Sending out to Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama
What is this hope?
An Invitation to try, to Believe.
A Daydream with your eyes wide open
That can lift you out of sleep.
Hope-
An Instruction to stand firm against scrutiny, intolerance
The Dances of Misunderstanding.
So, brace yourself. Brace your brother,
Your friend.
Hope-
A mother sends her beloved daughter to school with a kiss.
The girl crosses the street alone-
The mother watches her disappear through the doors.
In the auditorium, this same child watches the President,
Deliver The State of the Union Address on a wide screen.
She knows there's the possibility- The Chance of a Chance,
To become the President too.
Hope-
The new log on the fire in front of you, as you blow....
Encouraging it to ignite and warm those around you.
A Deliberate Prayer sent up,
With Great Expectations.
Hope-
To Fill, Fulfill, and Overflow.
To Unlock, Unleash, Understand.
It beats like an ancient drum /***/***/*** hear it?
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM...
The sound of Answers marching over the fields of doubt.
