This happened to me once at the worst possible time. I had unlocked everything (including the staff ghosts) and earned a three-star rank in Grand Prix mode as well as the Mission mode. It all got completely wiped and I had no idea why.

Were cameras allowed back in 2007 or did you hide yours until you were a good distance from the starting point? I went in 2010 and they were prohibited.

It's impressive to beat this on Xtreme using regular X. I usually use the Shadow armor.

You wouldn't think it, but X's saber actually does more damage to his second form than charged shots, especially since you can have it hit twice with one slash.

@Jeremyslick As long as you don't get any of the armor upgrades, you'll see this. Without armor, you can get eight heart tanks and two sub tanks.

@YTPrule You beat the game via the easy path, which leads to a decoy of Andross. To get to the battles shown in this video, you have to get to Venom through Area 6. You can get to Area 6 by destroying all six missiles in Sector Z or by using the "secret" method to destroy Macbeth's boss.

@EDWARDCR There are no secret levels. If you beat the game with all 53 yellow gems, you will be able to watch the full ending, which includes an extra scene after the credits. You have to have an overall rank of A in order to get the 53rd gem. So, S ranks are just for a feeling of accomplishment.

By the way, when Magma Dragoon goes to an edge of the platform to launch a stream of fire, you can jump over him and just barely stay on the platform. This lets you slash away at him for a decent amount of time.
