I'd love to have that discussion sometime. I found a Green Lama omnibus at the library and read the first four issues. The Green Lama tales are pretty great, to say nothing of the backing support stories! There's some surprisingly literate and witty second-string comics in each issue.

I forget that Jim is far more intelligent than I often give him credit for being. This is a very well-reasoned and accurate prediction, based on the musical reality of his times, no less.

You have no idea how much I envy you! I love this group, and they'll never come to NYC, where I am. No matter how many times I ask, they do not reply... sigh.

1986-1989: The true golden years of SNL! It was still funny from '90 - '92, but it started it's decline as the newer cast members began to take over, in my opinion.

Obama may have his flaws like everyone else, but I respect him deeply. No other recent president had the courage to speak out like this on this particular issue.

The book never had a Napoleon Dynamite feel. There was a desperate quality to the narrator, but he was also likeable and very articulate, with a strong voice and a very definite world view. The film has very little do to with the novel.

Incidentally, FOX attempted a tv series and filmed a pilot,...

This actually sounds heavier than the original version. I'm quite impressed!
