I remember when the Rosenberg Clinic used to be on the Strand (you'll have to Google search that), but later moved near the 'Silk Stockings district.' Back in the late 1970's and early 1980's I used to go here so often. My, what a change in scenery!

I love watching these old Girlschool clips. But did Kelly say (as a joke, of course) "I was a Chinese streetwalker?" I heard her say streetwalker, but I wasn't sure about the first word.

OMG, I have this exact phone that I purchased from a Bell South phone store back in 1981. It now sits in my parents den (still on line), but with various stickers on it. It will be a family heirloom I'm sure.

I actually remember when this song was a hit. The Braniff International stewardesses that wore their mini-skirts. You would see them all over in big airports. Someone needs to make a documentary about that area.

With that recent case in the news w/ the 'adult baby' Stanley Thornton, Jr, getting SSI, he wrote on his blog someone from SS visited him and asked questions which he could have simply lied about in order not to get caugh...

I think you can get SSI (Supplemental Security Income) without ever having worked. Most of the scammers on "Judge Judy", etc. seem to be on SSI, so that's saying a lot.

The singer is really good (drunk or not). My parents used to have a house on Bundick's Lake near the spillway (this was in the mid '80s), and even back then there was nothing to do but drink or fish (and I don't fish)...but mostly listen to the quiet and crickets!

I'm really surprised that so many transsexuals today have never heard of Bugis Street, Singapore. I've never been there, but I do remember the area being written about in books about TS/CD'ers and in U.S. transsexual fanzines back in the late '70s and early 1980's.
