About this user
I used to think I could change the world by working as hard as I could for as long as I could. Then I realized people are going to make their own choices and I can't be there all the time or influence each decision. I work with families who live with violence as part of their day to day lives. I work with children who have been abused and grow up to be abusers and I work with some who break the cycle of poverty and shine as adults. What I know is.. the kids are going to grow up. Their lives will be filled with memories of holidays, summer camps, birthdays, field trips, abuse, loneliness, nightmares, cold sores, heartache and joy. I try to make many of their memories good ones and I try to accept each child, each family, with the shortcomings and the promise that makes each unique.
