You're really inspirational! I'm a novice darbuka player (just bought one yesterday). Mine is made from goat skin and clay. Is it bad that I'm developing a habit of making the base 'Dum' sound with my thumb rather than my 4 fingers...? Will it interfere with more complicated techniques later on?
