The Wildroots
The Wildroots lived from 1987-1989 as part of a rootsy-leaning Chicago music scene that predated the era famous for launching Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, Urge Overkill and Material Issue. A who's who of guitarists joined the core trio of JD, Dan and Kerry as they tried to punch through the vacuum. "Candy Store" was the only official song recorded and released during their tenure as part of a network of bands that included The Insiders, Slamming Watusis, Righteous Hulaeels, Nicholas Tremulus, Dick Holiday and more...
Carpmen
The Carpmen was the side project born from a long-running jam session with members of the Peter Gunn, The Others and King Of Sighs bands meeting occasionally to drink and drive. Drive their instruments into the ground, that is.
WWR
Morris, Illinois duo, WorldWideRiot, made music from 2007-2008 and continues threatening to reunite from time to time. Their EP, "Poster Boys For The Apocalypse" was released in 2008 on Lilypad Records.
Hollus Padcasts
Morris, Illinois school chums and lifelong friends formed Hollus in 2005 and made its Lilypad debut in January 2007. Since that first session in the empty basement of Rancho Lilypad, Hollus added new members, lost others and went on to release several albums and EPs, some of which are part of the Lilypad family.
C54
Capo 5 Four (aka - C54) was born during the making of "Cath Carroll" (Lilypad 2000) album also known as "Glommer" when DADGAD tuning, combined with the frequent placement of a capo on, ahem, you guessed it -- the 5th fret, launched a nickname that stuck. Experimentally-leaning, ambience-prone and occasionally remixed, C54 covers a broad range of the "other" category.
