In defense of AA and the big book, I've never read a more... 'Live and let live' manual in my life. The premise is finding a Higher Power, a universal support system, that the individual can DEAL WITH. It's all about self-knowledge, and meant to work for the user. It hasn't been around for 70 yrs...
