On December 4, 1988 a soon to be legendary figure in hip-hop was born, third out of four children. Kevin (Lil Kyte) Cook's parents moved on the border of College Park and East Point, GA while Kevin was in the third grade. Although music has always been a huge part of his life due to his father's love of Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Arrested Development, and Tupac, this is where he fell in love with hip hop. Kyte then developed his own love for Michael Jackson and Biggie. However, it was over-shadowed with the sound of Cash Money Records, the club chants of Lil Jon, and he was inspired by the creativity of Outkast.

Kyte started writing lyrics at the age of 8, but it wasn't until he bumped heads with local rapper Archie Eversole (WE READY) at the age of 13 that he decided to persue rap music as a career. Archie came to Wyncove, the apartment complex just off of Washington Road, that Kyte grew up in, signed autographs, and bought ice cream for every kid in the neighborhood. Kyte noticed the joy that seemed to come over Archie after giving back to the community. That night, he hung Archies autograph on the wall of his room and vowed that he would some day do the same.

Kyte was a naturally shy child so he went most of his life in his brother's shadows. Kevin's rap career didn't begin until the age of 15 after being noticed by Stuart (Stu Gotz) Worthy during his sophomore year of high school. Which helped him get over his shyness. Kyte became the only member of the group RNO (Real Niggaz Only) that was born and raised in the south. This portion of the group which also consisted of James (Young Bless) Gibbs from Brooklyn, New York, released two mix-tapes (Street Reports VOL.1 & 2) in 2004 and 2005 under Full Clip Entertainment. The trio became local celeberties but had to go there seperate ways due to life. Although miles are between them, the brotherly bond that was established in high school is still there.

At age 16 Kyte became a father and homeless in the same year. But he refused to let anything or anyone bring him down. Though he was raised in College Park, Georgia, due to an interesting series of events Kyte ended up leaving Westlake high school in South West Atlanta, and graduated from Redan high school in Stone Mountain in 2007. He is now a Mass Communications student at Savannah State University. There he met AMI, CCB, the Dream Team, and Royal Fam Ent., who have all played significant roles in his musical career thus far.

Kyte's lyrical abilities separate him from many other southern rappers. Though he says his idols are Andre' 3000, Eminem, Ludacris, Biggie, and Stu Gotz, other rappers often compare his style and ability to T.I. and Lil Wayne. Though he is most confident in his flow and ability to play on words, if you sleep on his punch lines you WILL get knocked out!

Right now Kyte is in the process of recording his first solo mix-tape, WiLl RaP 4 FoOd VOL.1 which should be released this Fall.
