@bssmrk Yeah except modern day aircraft have sensors that stop you from putting it in reverse in flight. Usually a few different ways but the normal one on a bird this size would be a squat switch on the landing gear. Once they get weight on the wheels then they can throw it in reverse.

Actually jet engines do have horsepower ratings.

Turboprops ARE jet turbine engines. They just produce the thrust in a different way to Turbojet and Turbofan engines. With the turboprops they measure them in SHP.

Do you have any idea of the winds in the upper atmosphere? Remember the iceland volcano? If they are "spraying" it over your house, it will end up hundreds of km's from the drop point.
