About this user

I'm Robin Young, and I'm a twenty-one-year-old songwriter, singer, and guitarist living in Boston. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and moved up north to pursue a degree in Songwriting at Berklee College of Music. After five semesters intensively studying music, I left to study at the University of Massachusetts, where I am currently completing a joint degree in Psychology and Sociology.
I'm influenced by multiple genres, drawing most recently from country and folk music as well as other musicians falling under the more general singer/songwriter label. Artists that I consistently look to for inspiration include Grace Potter, Joni Mitchell, The Rescues, Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Ingrid Michaelson, The Spring Standards, Michelle Branch, Laura Marling, Charlotte Martin, Ari Hest, and Brandi Carlile.
I most consistently update my YouTube page. I post every new song that I write as well as covers of my favorite songs. I'm currently on hiatus from live shows as I'm focused on finishing up my degree, but I write songs often and hope to continue to pursue my career as a singer/songwriter in the future.
I love to hear from everyone who listens to my music- let me know if one of my songs means something to you, or if you just plain liked it. Everything that I write is entirely based on personal experiences- stories that I would love to tell if you want to know more about what I was going through when I wrote a particular song.
