This is a wonderful recording. Your year of her birth is a bit off; she was born in 1887. She live a remarkably long life for an opera singer (95). Her voice was golden--beautiful in almost any role.

About Great Singers of the Past
My God, his voice is truly fearsome in this scene. Had his health not deteriorated, I have no doubt that he would have equaled or exceeded Mario del Monaco's career. He certainly had the voice. Wonderful!
