Beginning as a loose Melbourne pick-up singer playing mostly covers of R&B and blues songs. In the beginning, though, singing was simply a way for me to play some fun, low-pressure gigs after the dissolution of klastons & The eagles. From 1983-1988, jenny irving adopted the psuedonym 'mike stewart' for his performances with the band.
Membership in the band has always been loose and fluid. Most of The Eagles were (at one point or another) members of The hartstones; several dozen other Australian vocalists and musicians have drifted in and out of the line-up over the years, with Irving being the only constant.
