will becoming an MMA fighter really make you good at street fighting?

I am wondering this because I plan on going to graduate school and dont have time to train 24/7, but in the end I want to be able to defend myself on the street.

I was really motivated to become an MMA fighter but idk how ef...

I have such a long nose that it touches the facebar a little bit.

I was wondering if its even worth it if the nose is gonna touch the bar. Im sure itll still be well protected.
