I play just about anything except country. I have played in Frank Zappa style bands, Rush and Kansas cover bands, gospel and bluegrass bands, original progressive rock and metal bands, and even done the Christian rock circuit but I prefer the heavier more powerful and complex music that suits me best.
My favorite band has been and always will be 'YES' a close 2nd is Dream Theater and was thrilled to have Steve Howe from YES sign the above album cover in 2008 and shoot a video of Mike Portnoy sign all four of the rare Tama Melody Master snare drums in 2007!
My drum kit is explained in detail in my kit tour video. My snare drum arsenal is growing again. I just bought my 12th snare drum which of course is TAMA.
I just bought a limited edition 7x13 Artwood Snare in Silver Sparkle from Midwest Percussion in Chicago Illinois. Call John or Art at 1-800-282-3786. They guarantee to meet or beat anybody's advertised price.
My Tama Monster kit, Roland V-Drum Pro kit, my Sabian cymbals and ALL but two snares came from there. I have been a steady customer since 1990. Video on snare drum arsenal coming by end of March 2009 as well as me drumming to the opening track of my new cd where I was the producer.
