I would say if your just starting out do everything you can, im sure it will be quite little. Then as you get better and hopefully more known increase the difficulty of what you're doing.
If you're just hitting play and relaxing while getting paid to 'perform' then that would be a problem.

@AnonymousPlayerr a while ago i felt the same way when i saw gear like that. But i just check on ebay all the time for used/broken stuff. Now i have some stuff but dont know how to make music... So now the hard part begins.
