Iaorana everybody :-)

The weather is finally warming up here in Japan. Life is good...
My Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe team has started high-intensity training in preparations for a race at Enoshima in June.
ISLANDS OF DA HEART, the Hawaiian music band I play with is rehearsing for another show at the Soleil amusement park in Misakiguchi on the 16th. This time, we'll be playing on the outdoors stage area so I hope to get some good videos of the show to post either here or on the band's Youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/isla... .
Please visit the band's page and leave a comment :-)!

As always, I invite everyone to visit me on FACEBOOK.
Connect to www.facebook.com, register (free) if you do not already have a FACEBOOK profile and type my name in the search window: andre colomas.
Hope you visit!
Name: Andre'
I have been lucky to be able to live in and visit many countries around the world and be exposed to many cultures (Polynesia and Oceania, Europe, Africa, North and South America, Asia, The Middle-East). I consider myself a citizen of the world. I like to borrow the title of Australian writer Albert Facey's Auto-Biography to describe my life: A FORTUNATE LIFE.

My motto is: Live life with passion and never have regrets.
City: Zushi
Hometown: Papeete, Polynesie Francaise
Country: Japan
Schools: Lycee Audiberti Antibes France
Interests and Hobbies: I am a football (soccer) Referee. It is like a second job for me. Most of my week-ends are spent running up and down soccer pitches with a whistle. I was briefly considered for FIFA assignment but my age at the time was a deciding factor in me not being appointed. The other factor being that my job did not allow me to be as available as I needed to be for an international soccer Referee career. That was my brush with glory...
Movies and Shows: - Romance: Marius, Fanny, Cesar (Marcel Pagnol), From Here to Eternity, Chocolat, Il Postino, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso. - Westerns: The Alamo, Winchester 73, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. - Adventures: Treasure Island, Mutiny on the Bounty. - War Movies: To hell and back, Sink the Bismark, Guadalcanal, Das Boot, All quiet on the western front. - Horror: The Exorcist, The Omen. - Musicals: Singing in the rain, Eddie and The Cruisers.
Music: I grew up to American and British music from the 70's. My elder brother was a teenager then and he had me listen to all kinds of stuff and by the age of 10 I was heavily into Progressive Rock (Genesis, Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer), Acid Rock (Pink Floyd, David Bowie), Punk Rock (Blondie, Sex Pistols, Roxy Music), Classic Rock (Deep Purple, The Eagles, Trapeze, Captain Beyond, Queen, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Cream) and Jazz Rock and Fusion (Weather Report, Return To Forever, Jean Luc Ponty, Mahavishnu Orchestra). I do like some of the music that came out of the 80's, 90's and the new millenium (U2, Level 42, Lloyd Cole and The Commotions) but, clearly, the 1970's remain my favorite decade as far as music is concerned.
Books: I have to admit, with some shame, that I am not a big reader. My favorite author is Marcel Pagnol (La Gloire de mon pere). Australian writer Albert Facey wrote an auto-biography titled A FORTUNATE LIFE that greatly influenced me. Recently I have discovered novels by Japanese author Haruki Murakami (South of the border, West of the Sun and Norwegian Wood).

I don't think that it's weird being a huge fan of old films and film stars but a lot of other people think it is. I'm proud of it coz it shows good taste!!!:D
U actually went to the place were they filmed the FHTEternity kiss scene?? Wow, thats brilliant -- it's my dream to go there! The nearset place to anywhere were i know Deborah Kerr has definetly been is Helensburgh, Bristol, and London so i'll be going there soon!!
Well, byeeeee!

Thanks a million times Andre...I am saving all of pi-chi so that I always have a record of this little bird. He means a lot to me....his little life is quite....symbolic...how can such a fragile little bird say so much by just existing? You do a wondferful act by sharing his story..it has such a positive impact on those following his story...

in the absence of pi chi videos I will bore you with my genesis/marillion story. I come from the same town as Fish ..derek dick from Marillion. When i was in my early teens I was a mad prog rock fan...but genesis (in their earlier to mid era) were Gods..I was in a snack bar with my mum..and Fish was there, right next to me!...and I happened to have bought the Genesis Live vinyl (not CD!) just before..which would have impressed him no end i'll bet...and you know what...I never asked him to sign it...! To this day I now remember opportunities rarely present themselves twice...I send you the parisian sock...I have requested that he helps me with my french! c'est pas bien!

more pi-chi please andre. The Scottish poet Norman MacCaig wrote a poem about the sparrow...it is very touching...

Sparrow.
by Norman MacCaig.

He's no artist.
His taste in clothes is more dowdy than gaudy.
And his nest - that blackbird, writing pretty scrolls on the air with the gold nib of his beak,
would call it a slum.

To stalk solitary on lawns,
to sing solitary in midnight trees,
to glide solitary over grey Atlantics - not for him:
he'd rather a punch-up in a gutter.

He carries what learning he has lightly -
it is, in fact, based only on the usefulness
whose result is survival.
A proletarian bird. No scholar.

But when winter soft-shoes in and these other birds -
ballet dancers, musicians, architects -
die in the snow and freeze to the branches,
watch him happily flying on the O-levels and A-levels
of the air.
