Hi we enjoyed your garden. We live in the great state of California in a region called the high desert (San Bernardino County) Victorville at 3,000 ft. and enjoy vegetable gardening. We also have cold and sometimes snow. What did really good this year was our tomatos. We planted San Francisco Fogs and they were the only ones left standing in the garden after many frosts. It is an heirloom tomato indeterminate that grows readily in the San Francisco Bay region of California. We planted it in Victorville and it was as hardy as our Sweet 100 tomatos. It is hard to find this variety but worth it. We got seeds from Tomato Growers Supply on the net. Happy Gardening

Cool Channel Man! I'm a new gardener....

What's clean and good tasting and nontoxic is eatable. Some people can't cope with the thought of eating a delicious venison steak or fish filet, and some people can't get themselves to eat a bowl of spinach.
I'm more worried about drinking tap water and eating supermarket food than the veggies I grow and the fish and game I harvest and prepare. I always remember how lobsters and tomatoes were thought to be poisonous by Europeans and if you sail a ship too far east, you'll fall off the edge of the earth. I love eating basil, kale and kohlrabi buds and flowers and many foods most people fear because they don't understand. Everything is relative.
