Why Listen To Me? Well,in 2004, Pearson Education (the 2nd largest publisher in the WORLD) came to me and asked me to write a book based largely on the material they found on my Advice page. The finished book was published in 2005 and entitled 'Learn The LowCarb Lifestyle For Five Bucks!' (You can get a *lot* of my advice and recipes for free at www.learnlowcarb.com now!) One day towards the end the last millenium, my husband came home and changed my life forever. Because he doesn't like to read ~ and he wanted to lose some weight. He'd run into a friend who had lost 45 pounds on the Atkins diet. "But that's not supposed to be safe" I protested. "How do you know?" he asked. I realized that I really didn't know enough about it to have an opinion, so I agreed to purchase and read the book on his behalf. After all, I loved to read, and if he was going on a diet, I, as the cook, would have to be briefed.

By the time I finished the first chapter, I was in tears. Dr. Atkins was describing ME. What's more, he swore there was an easy, healthy way to regain the old me.

I finished the book, and I read it again. A few days later, three days before my 35th birthday, I started a low carb diet combining principles from Atkins and Protein Power.

Less than a year later, I was TEN SIZES and SIX HUNDRED cholesterol points lighter!

Eight YEARS later, I am a 43-year-old Granny who STILL loves and lives a low-carb life. Let me teach you how!

I have TWO grand-angels now, a husband of 24 years, and two kids, one of whom is grown and making grandbabies (girl), and the other is still in high school (boy). I do everything for the office end of my husband's electrical contracting business, as well as everything for my website(s), and am fortunate enough to (read that: I worked my butt off so I could) live in the beautiful Vail Valley of Colorado. When I can find a spare minute, which isn't that often, I like to ride my big bad motorcycle or ski, depending on the weather.
