About Premiere: A Barbeshop Quartet
Premiere formed in Januray, 1996 in the home of Gold Medalist Baritone, Dennis Copeland Malone. Denny, Fred Womer, Rick Savage, and Bill Clark formed a magnificent bond that led them to the Mid Atlantic District Championship in 10 months. We competed at the international level as that same foursome and came in 24th, 13th, and 14th respectively in our first three international contest appearances. Denny moved far away to Denver, CO and then we added another Gold medal Baritone, Freddie King. 1999 allowed us to follow back to the top 20 in international competition. Two more contests followed with Freddie in the group. Freddie retired from us in 2002 and our final combination, Bill, Ricky, Fred Womer, and the youngest baritone ever in our group, Paul Grimes. Paul is great on the bagpipes too. We had our final performance in September, 2008 on the Alexandria Harmonizers annual show in none other than Alexandria, VA.
