As you can tell - I am a non professional bassoonist who just loves to play. I share my humble recordings so that others may be inspired to do the same. I like to think that I represent the voice of the non professional - given how hard it is to make a living playing there are many of us who are extremely dedicated that fill in the "amateur" ranks. The word amateur doesn't seem to me to do justice to the passion and time invested but there is a difference between those that do it for pay and those that do not. Clearly my fellow professionals are better players that have my esteem and respect to their dedication.
I think we should all respect each other - constructive comments are always appreciated. I am bothered by some of the snarkiness I sometimes see - I challenge a negative voice to a video response! It's easy to be critical - much harder to play it all yourself! Fortunately most of my fellow youtube bassoonists are way too cool to get caught up in this.
Once in awhile I am forutnate enough to tape someone else's concert but only post it with their permission. I video everything with my flip video.
