I was lucky enough to see these live at the Rainbow (may have been Hammersmith) in London in the late 70s/early 80s. Still sound great.

UK clubbing at its best. Still have my best mates from the day and at every opportunity we party to this and much more like it. I don't care what anyone says, you won't beat the 80's jazz funk soul era.

Put Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis together, add in Alexander O'Neal on backing (and he was a huge star at the time) and you come up with another class song from 80's soul.

Valentines, casual shoes, no socks, branded t-shirt - UK clubbing at its best.

One of these days, I'll join this man in heaven and I will sit in an audience and be thankful that now and again legends never die.

Just booked to return for another month next year. Was last in Oz 3 years ago on Australia Day in Sydney Harbour. Huge boat packed was palying this as loud as possible and you could hear all the way from the shore. I maybe a Pom but can't wait to get back in 2012. Great tune, great country. See y...

Teddy Pendegrass, Luther Vandross, etc, this man lives with them.

He may have fallen a couple of times but this guy can still sing and this is by far his best song ever. Never a UK mainstream hit but it was absolutely massive in the clubs. Keep it going Alex, been there since 1983 and still going strong.

This man will always be a legend. How many peopel could sing like this sitting in a wheelchair. My only regret is that I never saw him live. Hope I meet him in the next life. RIP Teddy.

I've got the Greatest Hits on vinyl and this is still one of my favourite tracks. Great version of Hall & Oates anthem and damn, its close to their best.

Pure class. This broke all barriers and still is one of the very best soul songs to come out of the 80s. As to the man, I still listen to him as much as I can. Legends never die, they just play on.

Yep, this is the 12" vinyl version that was a UK club anthem in the day. I've seen him live so many times and was priviliged to be there during the first UK tour in 1983. Best track he ever did as far as I'm concerned. Another Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis production - say no more!
