its quite easy to understand how it works, its simular to the two stage oscilator (pivot) in that it (paddles) redirect the flow in the opposite direction. if you increase the flow by 2x you should see a larger increase in output. the formulas i use for the 2sc are 4*pi*pi*r*m/t*t (centripetal formula) then centripetal/mass/gravity for a % but this will be a little different for your application, the radius would be inside the cup for example..
