First heard this song April 1983 when in Washington DC. Bought the casette 'Kenny Loggins High Adventure' at a then record chain known as 'Waxie Maxies.' My opinion: Things were very disadvanced then, with a drop more stability, but yes, the music was mostly brighter.

The original Parlophone version of Brother Beyond's 'Get Even' cassette sounds better melodywise; but, Brother Beyond's vocals stay top notch-distinctive.
