So your kids don't like oatmeal because it's pasty and gross. Right? I'm here to solve that problem for you. Four ingredients and about a minute of time make a whole-grain breakfast that's inexpensive, healthful, and - best of all - doesn't taste like camp food.
*Fill bowl with quick oats.
*Add a spoonful of cocoa powder.
*Mix (it's better to mix the dry ingredients together first, which I forgot to do in the video).
*Add spoonful of honey (or sugar).
*Add just enough milk to wet - it takes less milk than you think.
You can adjust the recipe ingredients, substituting soy milk or almond milk for the milk, and sugar or another sweetener for the honey. Or use gluten-free oatmeal for an easy, inexpensive gluten-free breakfast. This recipe is also great for premixing and eating on trips - just add powdered milk to the other dry ingredients and wet with a little water.
