The problem is with retailers. They all demand "special" pre-order incentives in exchange for shelf placement and marketing dollars. The publishers are slaves to it. As soon as things go all digital, we'll be much better off. Trust me, I deal with this daily.

@SexyBeast376 The 5.0 is also available in the F150. I'm not saying it's in this Raptor (it's either the new 6.2 or old 5.4L), but it's available none the less.

@scupking This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. I had a 2006 GT before my '11, and miss the sound of that 4.6. It really was fantastic.

Sounds awesome. I have the Roush axle-back, but the sound is a little too harsh and metallic for my tastes. I'm thinking about switching to the hushpower, which seems to be deeper and less peaky. Do you have much drone or boom when cruising at highway speeds?

Are people surprised the Mustang won? That Chevelle's gotta have some balls to run even close to a 5.0. They weigh a metric asston. My wife's Fusion Sport is faster than most classic muscle cars (stock for stock). This Chevelle is sick, though. Two awesome cars.

Slicks won't do much for a stock automatic GT, because it's not that traction limited. I'm guessing, though, that you were in unfavorable atmospheric conditions, because a 110mph trap speed should yield a lower time. What was your best run of the night?

@tommasosimoncini Better do a little research. In Motor Trend's recent Best Driver's Car test, the Z06 was the fastest car of the pack... 1.5 seconds ahead of the 458 Italia even. Much faster than the GT-R.

the Z06 owned everything that wasn't triple its price before the GTR, and even now you can get one for 20k cheaper than the GTR and be nearly as fast on a decent track. it may be the biggest performance to dollar legend of our era. and i'm a mustang owner.

Pre-production cars are always juiced by a tenth or two. That time isn't bad, but considering the 392 will be pushing 50k, it'll have to compete with the new GT500 and ZL1, not the 5.0 or SS. I.e., it'll still be the slowest of the three. But best looking and sounding of the three, also. :)

@FoxBodyMike87 stock for stock there's no competition. a 5.0 would boat race a goat. the GTO is pretty cheap and easy to mod, though. both sweet cars. too bad people gotta be fanboys rather than just appreciating all american muscle.
