David Attenborough has been for a long time (and will always be) a hero of mine. Even back in 1984, he already saw what would happen to our great planet. And it is happening...global warming, the destruction of the rain forests, the extinction of Earth's animals, and on and on. Attenborough's message rang clear in 1984 and still has purpose today...please save our planet before it's too late!!!

- Shakespeare (VWM054) was born into the Whiskers gang to parents Flower and Zaphod on November 8, 2002 alongside his littermates Mozart, Einstein and Freud. Shakespeare survived to adulthood and was one of the main characters when Animal Planet's hit series "Meerkat Manor" began, gaining fame in being a courageous member, adamant sentinel ad loyal babysitter; all-around he was an excellent group member. Early in the show, he justified his devotion to his gang by kindly saving the life of his little brother Mitch, who had- innocently- been abandoned by some of the gang's juveniles and teenagers. He had returned early from foraging that day, so returned the pup safely home.
Shakespeare had a dance with death when he was viciously bitten by one of the Kalahari's common snakes: a puff adder. He was bitten on the left thigh, but also more obscurely on the side of his face. Shakespeare had been assisting his family in endeavoring to ward the serpent off, but paid a heavy price. Following the attack, despite being agonized, soldier Shakespeare bravely dragged himself home where he remained at the burrow, gradually fading in and out of consciousness. When the remainder of Whiskers returned that night, they were very observant of him, and his half-sister Kinkaju (Kinkajou) offered him some grooming. That night when the gang went it bed, it was uncertain if Shakespeare would arise...
But, miraculously, the male was not dead. Over the course of a few days, his sisters Mozart and Badiel (Tosca) were obliged to watch after him at the burrow, offering him solace and assisting him in foraging. With time, his leg healed and life returned to normal for Shakespeare. But sadly, in March of 2005, heroic and tenacious Shakespeare disappeared from the study area, expected to have dispersed or be taken by some form of predation... he is a missed hero!

- I'm home sick and have nothing to do. |: So this resulted. It was about time I made a tribute to one of my favorite meerkats... I thought the song was pretty fitting, although I really focused in on his puff adder attack. Not a real effecty video, just more emotional. Hope you enjoy.

A note on the Youssarian tribute I've been working on. I may have to cancel it, despite the fact I REALLY wanna finish it. My computer's basically out of memory, I can't delete certain clips without totally fucking up other videos and whatnot to get the right clips I need, etc. etc. Basically, I don't think it's going to work out with getting the clips I need atm, so it may have to be stopped.

Vialli was a great meerkat, but a lot of people don't like her because of her fights with Flower. They don't realise she was just following her natural instincts. I'm glad to meet another Vialli fan :)
