any word on the effect, if any, of the Feb 18/19 boycott?...don't really need a boycott. Now that i cannot easily find which comment someone replied to, why waste time reading the comments?..i guess utube wants us to spend less time socializing, just watch vids so they get pay-clicks. guess what GOOGLE..You are about to regret buying utube:)))))i used to spend 6 hours per night here. Now?..about 15 minutes. who needs it anymore? Google ruins everything they touch and forces u to sign up?..bye :D

Well it's official - all channels will be downgraded to that ugly grey prison wall on Thursday March 1st or 7th, 2012. Want to get even? Then join ZIPPCAST.com and find a nice surprise... the forum is youtube's original channel design. However, the forum is undergoing major server problems, uploading, no mail notification, slow channel surfing and login, etc., and not sure when those problems will be fixed, if ever.

And/or join "Gozie.com" and never be afflicted with annoying ads or VEVO like DailyMotion has and their rejection of many of my videos. I'm ShiftingReality channel on Gozie. http://www.gozie.com/user/shiftingrea.... Daily Motion.com places ads in the beginning and in the middle of your video. Yes, you read that correctly. One ad in the beginning of your video and then your video stops in the middle of playing with another 30 second advertisement. I deleted my account there.
Boycotts springing up all over the place but don't think it will help bring back what youtube once was or keep our individual designs. Boycotts are not good for me on Saturdays and Sundays because they're my only two days off. I guess I'll have to choose my own boycott days.

MESSAGE TO YOUTUBE: YOU WANT TO REDESIGN CHANNELS? How about exposing the channel names of those who thumb down videos for no reason other than being assholes huh? That would be useful function. Because everything else you redesigned is 100% dysfunctional!

MY FEEDBACK: While Google youtube keeps asking users for feedback, that's all it is - Feedback! It doesn't mean they'll change anything.
It's quite clear that neither Google, nor YouTube, and most especially the "product team" in charge of the Beta Gulag design, care the slightest bit about their users, or the damage they're doing. They've stooped so low as to ask us to "try" their new design and then force us into prison wall design anyway that is so terrible no-one can bear trying it for more than two minutes. That shows me quite clearly the direction they're heading. Will they take the time to read what's being said in this forum or Feedback? Not a chance! That would mean that they cared, and they've established that they don't. Seems to me this is youtube's way of saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year suckers to their users.
Making "friends" a part of subscriptions doesn't work or matter to me. The majority of invites are only looking to rack up more "thank you for the invite" comments. They have no intention of communicating in the short or long term. Further, they don't watch the invitees videos yet expect their videos to be watched and repeatedly send them. Subscribers have priority and so do users who watch my videos.
1. I want my channel design left as is. 2. I want to know the channel names of those who thumb down videos. 3. If youtube wants to restrict freedom? (a) Limit how many channels users subscribe back to per day. (b) Limit channel comments posted per day. (c) Limit video comments posted per day. (d) Eliminate copycat comments with the graphics and doodads.

I Think We Should have a choice. If someone wants a new design let Them have the new look. Many, like me, do not and it's not only about the page layout features but Community spirit is very important. Let's hope YouTube will hear all the voices.
I have plenty of friends away from YouTube but I enjoy the friendship of people that share a common interest and above all I love the show casing art and beautiful music. For me it is about creativity, passing it on and Gaining knowledge. The new format will be the kiss of death for this, I believe I have every right to protest against it.
Cause we're the people using the site, We Should have a say as much as They Do!

On every Sunday, Privatize all the videos if you do not want to change the graphics. That is an initiative that strikes hard but is a must for all of YouTube. Send the message to all Those Who upload videos and in all languages, possibly in all the channels you know, for a few days. If you have a video in private, nothing happens, you will not change your life, but you can change YouTube!
Youtube is great because it's a fantastic platform for creativity and for all.
I'm on here to support and make videos for one particular artist and to meet others who do too, no interest in making money. Our channels are made with love, inspiration and color. It is a home away from home for many of us. The world of YouTube and our channels were created by us. And without us, YouTube is NOTHING!!!!!
I also can no longer find my YouTube-"friends", and this is really a nuisance. Of course it is important to get "united" in the name of good music and art. This is no longer possible with the new design, among many other things. That's really a shame.
