About Me:
Lahav Shani appeared in many concerts, recitals and festivals in Israel and abroad. He played with several orchestras in Israel, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Zubin Mehta, with whom he performed the first piano concerto by Tchaikovsky.
In 2010 he was invited by Maestro Zubin Mehta to join the Israel Philharmonic tour to the Far East as a solo Pianist and his Assistant Conductor. In this tour, he also joined the orchestra as a Double bass player.
He is a former member of the Young Musician Educational Program of the Jerusalem Music Centre. He has received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since the year 2000, and is being supported by the Daniel Barenboim Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. He has won several competitions including the Turgeman, Paul Ben Haim and the "Vandome" Competitions.
He was instructed in master classes with great pianists such as András Schiff, John O'Connor, Alexander Toradze and Claude Frank.
In addition to his piano studies, He has been studying Double bass with Mr. Teddy Kling, a principal player in the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and played with several Israeli orchestra, including the IPO under the baton of Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel and Kurt Masur.
