1. Okapis 2.Fais des bots! 3.The white tiger 4.Philip 5.Aquatic mammals Performed by Santiago Bosco (flute), Miguel Sparano (oboe), Gerardo Forino (clarinet), Delfino Núñez (Horn), Filiberto Núñez (bassoon) OKAPIS is inspired by the discovery of the species by Harry Johnston back in 1901. FAIS DES BOTS! was an elephant that the composer saw at the VINCENNES ZOO in Paris. The animal previously had belonged to a circus. THE WHITE TIGER was one that the composer saw at the WASHINGTON DC ZOO, probably the famous MOHINI. PHILIP was a flying squirrel that the composer brought from the USA to URUGUAY for his son GABRIEL who kept it as a pet for 11 years. AQUATIC MAMMALS are the ones the composer discovered at MARINELAND in MIAMI. He was deeply impresed by the story of a killing whale that had commited suicide for love.
