This is one of my favorite songs and now I think its one of my favorite videos that I have made. This song is and was very popular with Algerian emigrees to France and is considered a classic. I have seen it performed live on Algerian tv by Baaziz but I really did not know the history of the song. I found it on a compilation of songs popular with Algerian emigrees and then the pieces fit together. This song means alot of things to alot of Algerians, much more in fact than the lyrics which mean simply "nice eyes". Algerian songs tell stories, preserve memories of back home and help Algerians outside of Algeria remember their past, heritage and home. Now more than ever, Algerians need to remember and embrace their rich culture, heritage and story telling tradition.
