for the record, an ironhead should idle faster than that. too slow and the crank doesn't get enough oil = catastrophic failure = rebuild before it's really due. sweet ride, though!

sportsters are high revving due to the oiling system working off flow, not pump volume. if you ever hear an old sportster doing that slow potato-potato idle they're asking for an expensive new bottom end!
