I'd have to dissagree on that one. I found this remake much better, this was much more "in depth", and over-all didn't leave near as many unanswered questions, unlike the original. Dont get me wrong, the '80 version was good, but this one is my preference. besides, i couldnt stand shelly duvall, ...

I remember seeing this when it aired on tv (new zealand), personally i actually prefered this version to the original 1980 version ('cos it was much more detailed story-wise). Havnt seen it since. Just like stephen kings "langoliers" and the 1997 remake "vanishing point", all were "made for tv". ...

90s was awsum!! I consider myself lucky that i was a teenager (from 93-99) listening to this kind of wicked music. this movie was a masterpiece. i love the way the sets look, u know, with the lighting and glitter etc. and how could i forget the little blue-haired worm wearing the scarf! cute.

The car was the best part of the film for sure. Although this is among my top 10 favorite car films, is really a shame that there were so many continuity/visual inconsistancies.Acting was certainly nothing to write home about either, that said, its still a wicked movie in my opinion.
