About Me:
Sarwat was born in shahraban, a city in the southern part of Kurdistan. He finished primary and secondary school in Koya and entered the Salahadeen University in Hawler where he received a bachelors degree in Kurdish literature. He began playing music in 1987 and was trained by one of the most respected and well-known master of traditional Kurdish music, Sardar Ahmed. In the beginning, he worked with the Haji Qadir group and later on in 1989, for the first time, he performed violin with ( Bawaji ) Koya group which were the most popular music group in Kurdistan . He continued work with them, as a main member of the group until 1999. Sarwat also was an active member of Kurdistan united Artists Union Organisation from 1995 to 1999 and he has taught at the Kurdistan save the childrens organisation in the summers of 1997, 1998 and 1999.Upon completion of his study in Hawler (salahadeen) University, he had worked with ( Zir u Bam ) and ( University music groups ) for four years (1993-1997). Although he is an academic violin player, he is also a very professional composer and song writer who has composed more than 30 songs and pieces of music for Kurdish TVs. In 2000, Sarwat moved to the United Kingdom and currently lives in London. In 2005, he further expanded his formal education by studying advanced level of Folk music in Leeds College and has performed with Leeds symphony orchestra (LCM) group for six months. Sarwat has performed and recorded works with most of the well-known Kurdish singers and is currently the main member of ( Awazi Win ) group in United Kingdom . He can play the cello, lute, keyboard as well as violin, and has his own recording studio.
As a composer, song writer and performer, he has talent, ability and experience in different styles of music such as Folk, Arabisc, Classic and Pop. He enjoys any type of work that is for the purpose of improving music. Considering all of the difficulties in his career, he has composed a lot of great artistic work.
