About Tui the African Grey Parrot

After seeing the amazing parrots (Einstein, Nkisi and of course Alex) I knew no other pet/companion would ever do. I got Tui, in 2006 and inspired by our hero's ... post Tui's progress in her cognitive abilities and some funny moments.

May 12 2008 I lost her, due to a silly mistake I thought I would never make. But if others can learn from Tui and been inspired, that works for me

As many of you know I lost Tui due to what despite people telling me not to be so hard on myself was improper training advice that came from a birdtrick youtube broadcaster.

I have since found out this hard sell web based company are scoffed and ridiculed by professional trainers. So I am listing sites I have since found out about having already lost Tui. Please if you have a parrot check out Barbara Heidenreich at http://www.goodbirdinc.com/ and her blogs and articles. She is the real deal, published and trusted by Zoo's and Vets.

Tui is an African Grey Congo, now 3 years old (hatchday is June 12) and the various videos are of her progression and just things I manage to capture because she will stop everything when the camera comes out.

I do enjoy reading the comments, however I do not make a habit of checking youtube now that I no longer have anything to share,so please don't be too disappointed if it takes a while for me to answer anything asked. You would be better to as the forum at http://www.greyforums.net

I have noticed that Tui has also inspired others to add an African Grey companion in their lives and if your interested in one, I can highly recommend Tui's breeder http://feathernflameaviary.homestead.com/index.html

The birds are amazingly cared for and so tame when you get them, plus the added bonus of coming from breeding stock that produce talented and intelligent birds
